Public Comment portion of the meeting was opened:
Myers Ave. residents were concerned about flooding in the yards of many of their homes on that street. The Mayor informed them that he will contact the Village Attorney and ask if we as a Village can do anything. The properties they are speaking of are private property and not property of the Village of Yorkville.
A few Residents who were present brought up concerns about a property on Calder Ave. Officer Frank Allen will be contacting these residents for further details.
Wlock from 39 Myers Ave. addressed several concerns. He was wondering about a replacement for the information board that is in front of the Municipal Building. The board had looked into purchasing an LED Information Board, but found it was quite costly. Wlock also mentioned the curbing on Campbell Ave and asked if it could be repaired. The Highway Department will be looking into this. The final question was about an empty lot as the result of a fire, at 95 Campbell Ave. The Village does not own this property, whether it is developed or sold is up to the owner of the property.
Public Comment was closed.
Deputy Mayor Thomas reported that he had completed the line up for the Summer Band Concerts in the park. The first concert will be held on July 11th at 6PM. Deputy Mayor Thomas informed the board that he conducted an unannounced inventory of the garbage bags and found everything to be in order.
