The September 3, 2019 meeting of the Village of Yorkville Board of Trustees was called to order at 6PM in the Board room of the Municipal Building located at 30 Sixth in Yorkville.
Present were; Mayor Michael A. Mahoney, Deputy Mayor James G. Collea, Trustees; David J. Morosco, Deborah L. Constas and Adam J. Sassone. Also present was Village Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Nowak. Absent from this meeting was Attorney John W. Dillon.
The meeting was opened, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Motion 65-2019 was made by Trustee Morosco to approve last month’s minutes as presented. Deputy Mayor Collea seconded the motion to approve the minutes. All in favor 5-0.
Motion 66-2019 was to approve the Vouchers in the total amount of $197,495.08. The motion was made by Trustee Sassone , seconded by Trustee Constas; all in favor 5-0.
At this time Mayor Mahoney opened the meeting to public comment. There were no comments at this meeting.
Deputy Mayor Collea commented that most of the Street Lights have been replaced to the LED lights. We will be working on getting the cost saving to the Village.
Trustee Morosco had nothing to report at this time.
Trustee Constas had no report this month.
Trustee Sassone reported that the last band concert was last week, and it was a great success. Its was held at the Whitestown Vets club with a few hundred residents in attendance. Trustee Sassone would like to expand the concerts next year and offer more variety to the list. Mayor Mahoney thanked Trustee Sassone for his hard work on the concerts and his enthusiasm.
Financial Report was written.
Village Attorney was not present.
Police Report was written.
Highway report was given by Joseph Morosco. Morosco stated that the Highway department has been busy with the paving project and is now complete. They have completed the follow up cleaning to the paving and are continuing with the normal day to day tasks of the highway Department. Morosco mentioned that the large Village trash pick-up will be Friday, September 27th. Trustee Constas remarked that the highway employees have been doing a great job with replacing the lids on the trash and recycling cans after they collect them.
Codes reports were delivered as written.
Fire Department report was given by Chief Joseph Morosco. Chief Morosco updated the board on the vehicles. The department has the vehicles and is awaiting parts and accessories to complete the build of the trucks. The department has ordered and received 2 new AED’s.
Planning Board report was written.
Zoning Board report was written.
Mayor Mahoney stated that the bulk trash pick-up will be Friday, September 27. Mayor Mahoney has asked that the Police keep vigilant for importing of trash. This is a service we offer to our residents.
Friday, September 6th will be the grand opening for Stewarts. An open invitation was given to all members of the Village Boards, Codes and Fire Department. The Village is working on completing the security upgrades and access control that is being added to the Municipal Building. The Mayor asked for a motion to approve completion of the project at a cost of $15580.00. Trustee Morosco made Motion 67-2019 to approve the completion of the project. Trustee Collea seconded the motion and it was approved 5-0.
Motion 68-2019 to adjourn the September meeting at 6:16pm was made by Trustee Sassone, seconded by Trustee Constas; all in favor 5-0.
